Residents are engaged in their personal recovery journey by attending meetings and working with a sponsor and the house manager for support and encouragement. Residents adhere to a curfew, submit to drug and alcohol screenings and participate in home and community events. Recovery home certification is awarded by state affiliates organized under the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, or NARR.

Hatfield represented Evansville in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2016 through this year’s session – when he announced his intention to run for circuit court judge – while also maintaining a private legal practice. All Vanderburgh Sober Living recovery homes strictly follow NARR Certification requirements and work collaboratively with NARR’s state affiliates to improve the quality of sober living for all guests. EVANSVILLE — Vanderburgh County’s two candidates for circuit court judge, Ryan Hatfield and Molly Briles, sat down with the Courier & Press to answer questions about what they plan to bring to the bench if elected in November. We approach our roles with passion and a determination to do excellent work and change the world. The judges are going to be the deciders of whether that evidence is scientifically reliable or not, so it is important for us to have a basic understanding of how these tools work. We are generally prohibited from doing independent research into these kinds of evidentiary issues. It’s good to have a solid foundation, but ultimately, it’s going to come down to the evidence that’s presented in any given case. I have not had any conversations with any other potential bidders, because I think that if we’re going to have that process, the judge shouldn’t come into it with predetermined notions. I began my career as a deputy prosecutor in the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office.
